  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/3 cup sugar, divided
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest (from 2 lemons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup canola oil
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
